the wildlife
Casa Uvita is dedicated to preserving the property’s 4 hectares of primary rainforest, which is home to a variety of tropical birds including parrots, toucans, trogons and falcons; howler and capuchin monkeys; and lizards, including basilisks and iguanas. Sloths are often found in the surrounding forest, but spotting one is the biggest challenge!

The beaches
Enjoy the warm shallow waters of the Marino Ballena National Park. Take a walk on the sandy beaches or along the shaded paths within the National Park. Enjoy a picnic under the shade of a coconut tree while watching the crabs and seabirds. Local tours offer surfing, snorkeling, whale/dolphin watching, scuba diving, fishing and sea kayaking.
The mountain
From Casa Uvita, you can explore mountain roads and trails or take a dip in a nearby swimming hole fed by the Uvita River. Take in the breathtaking views; study the tropical flora and fauna; enjoy the cool mountain water.
